Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapies

Bone Marrow Transplantation or Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation as the most accurate naming nowadays, is crucial to obtain long term remission in most of the hematological malignancies.

Autologous HSCT is still the current standard of care in the treatment of multiple myeloma. It is a consolidate approach to induce a prolonged progression free survival in at least a half of patients who are diagnosed with multiple myeloma. It is also a relevant salvage option in many sub-types of lymphomas.

Allogeneic HSCT has a crucial role to play to induce a sustained remission in leukemias. At least 80-85 % of the patients who are fit enough and diagnosed with any sub-type of acute leukemias need also HSCT even as a consolidative frontline approach or as a rescue in further lines of therapies.

With the advent of further cellular therapies, such as CAR-T cell therapy the cure rates among all types of hematological malignancies are dramatically increasing. Our center is capable to provide this kind of most developed cellular therapies with a  collaboration between us and Lu Daopei Hospital, Beijing China.

Services We Provide

The cornerstone of successful outcomes in hematological disorders is a precise and accurate diagnosis. At our center, we work with experienced hematopathologists who are highly trained and equipped with the most up-to-date immunohistochemical and molecular diagnostic tools. This ensures that every diagnosis is made with the highest level of accuracy and reliability.

Hematology is experiencing a transformative era marked by targeted therapies and refined risk stratification, driven by advances in genetic testing. Techniques such as PCR and next-generation sequencing (NGS) have significantly enhanced our understanding of the molecular basis of hematologic diseases and malignancies. Our unit is fully equipped to perform comprehensive diagnostic and prognostic genetic analyses. We can monitor disease progression and treatment response with exceptional sensitivity—capable of detecting even a single malignant cell among 10 million normal cells through state-of-the-art molecular techniques.

Our center is a leading provider of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, including both autologous and allogeneic procedures, tailored to patient-specific indications. In addition, we offer cutting-edge cellular therapies such as CAR T-cell therapy, which represents a major advancement in the treatment of relapsed and refractory hematologic malignancies. Our specialized team of transplant physicians, cell therapy experts, and intensive care professionals ensures safe and effective delivery of these complex treatments, supported by a robust infrastructure for patient selection, apheresis, cellular engineering, and post-treatment monitoring.

We are achieving significant success with novel immunotherapies and non-chemotherapy-based targeted treatments in hematology. Our center provides access to the latest approved therapies, including conventional chemotherapies, targeted agents, and innovative immunotherapies. Treatment is administered by a multidisciplinary team of experienced clinical pharmacologists, physicians, and nurses who are highly trained in drug administration, patient monitoring, and side effect management. This collaborative approach ensures each patient receives safe, effective, and individualized care.
